Getting specific on parts request traffic Clark Wilkins, Simplexable 2017.08.27
As of today, in version 16.128, we're bringing you even more knowledge about parts requests. As shown in the figure below, in the characterizations block at the bottom, the part number involved here (05938142) involved here has been identified as sourcing from two modality pairs: "Siemens MRI: Harmony" and "Siemens MRI: Symphony".
Characterization is being deployed here to identify the types of equipment where this company can find the part involved in the request. This is useful in determining what you want to acquire for inventory purposes, but how do you get more specific to find out what you need? That's what's new in 16.128.
The general report shows hits/misses, overall recorded requests, and a breakdown by modality pair vs. timeframe.
That's fine for overview and general traffic analysis, but what we want to know is a bit more about a specific system and whether we should think about buying one. Let's say this company is considering a Sensation 16 CT. As of 16.128, we click on that row and a new report appears with details on all requests where a Sensation 16 would have the part involved.
Using this report, we can assess the request traffic for a specific modality pair. This is part of a series of factors that help to decide if a given piece of equipment is worth purchasing.
